In the mom-stuff community I do not like to post my politically views but I just had to share this joke with you.

While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies.
The Senator’s soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
“Welcome to heaven,” says St. Peter. “Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we’re not sure what to do with you.”
“No problem, just let me in,” says the Senator.
St. Peter says, “Well, I’d like to, but I have orders from higher up.
What we’ll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.”
“Really, I’ve made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,” says the Senator.
“I’m sorry, but we have our rules”, replies Saint Peter.
And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.
Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.
They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne.
Also present is the Devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.
Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises…
The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St.
Peter is waiting for him.
“Now it’s time to visit heaven,” St Peter says.
So, 24 hours pass with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and the 24 hours in heaven passes by and St. Peter returns.
“Well, you’ve spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now which will you choose for your eternity?” St Peter asks.
The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers, “Well, I never would have thought it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be happier and better off in hell.”
So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
Now the doors of the elevator open and he’s in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.
He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.
The Devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder.
“I don’t understand,” stammers the Senator. “Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there’s just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable.  What happened?”
The Devil looks at him, smiles and says, “Yesterday we were campaigning…
today …  you have voted .”

PAAO-Raising Awareness of Partental Alienation and Hosstile Aggressive Parenting

Do your part to get your local community aware of this problem!

Did You Know That…

Parental Alienation is a form of Child Abuse?

Parental alienation (or Hostile Aggressive Parenting) is a group of behaviors that are damaging to children’s mental and emotional well-being, and can interfere with a relationship of a child and either parent. These behaviors most often accompany high conflict marriages, separation or divorce.

These behaviors whether verbal or non-verbal, cause a child to be mentally manipulated or bullied into believing a loving parent is the cause of all their problems, and/or the enemy, to be feared, hated, disrespected and/or avoided.

Parental alienation and hostile aggressive parenting deprive children of their right to be loved by and showing love for both of their parents. The destructive actions by an alienating parent or other third person (like another family member, or even a well meaning mental health care worker) can become abusive to the child – as the alienating behaviors are disturbing, confusing and often frightening, to the child, and can rob the child of their sense of security and safety leading to maladaptive emotional or psychiatric reactions.

Most people do not know about Parental Alienation and Hostile Aggressive Parenting until they experience it. Parental Alienation Awareness is put forth to help raise awareness about the growth in the problem of targeting children and their relationship in healthy and loving parent/child bond.

We need your help to protect the innocent, …the children.

We need your help to educate and make aware to the public the effects of Parental Alienation and Hostile Aggressive Parenting.

If you’ve been affected by Parental Alienation or know someone who has, or are a past victim of a parent who exhibited Hostile Aggressive Parenting, please write and tell us your story. We will add your story to our letters page for everyone around the world to publish in their local magazines, newspapers, etc. Please remember to keep your story to the telling of the confusion, loss, love, and heartache. Please refrain from excessive anger and verbally assaulting anyone in your letters.

The aim of the Awareness is to make the general public, judges, police officers, mental health care workers, child protection agencies, lawyers, as well as friends and family of the targeted children or their parents become aware of this growing problem.

With awareness comes education and understanding, and the power to stop the abuse of innocent children caught in the crossfire of people they love.

Self Improvement

What do you say when you talk to yourself? Do you use empowering words or self defeating words?

Do you use the words "can't", "won't", "don't need to", "why try"? Do you “should” yourself? I should do this. I should feel this way. I shouldn’t feel this way.

Many people do.

Do you find that what you say to yourself turns out to be true?

Why is this?

You see your brain is like a computer that you imput data into each day. The subconscious mind doesn’t' know what's real or not. It takes the information you give it and brings it into your life. Without judgment.

Example: If someone you love has left you. You may tell yourself that all people you love will leave and hurt you too.

Your brain just files this information for reference, it's data. It does not know if the information is "true or not true?" Now your brain thinks, based on what you told it, that everyone you'll ever love will leave and hurt you.

How do you think you will respond the next time you start to fall in love?

Right!! You will avoid getting hurt and run away. Or you will bring partners into your life that will fulfill your believe. You will feel abandon each time you lose someone in your life.

There has got to be a better plan.

Now, what if you instead told your subconscious mind:

"Okay this person ripped my heart out and stomped on it. I am really hurting, I am sad and angry… - but that's only one person. I'm lovable and have many loving people in my life. I know that the right people come into my life at the right time. I will be honest with my feelings of sorrow and anger. I will allow them sometime and then I will let them go. I know that people come and leave my life for a reason and a season."

Words can be empowering.

I can

I love

I will

I am

We can reach a new level of living, if we feed ourselves with empowering words and practice saying them until they become a habit.

This takes practice. I know firsthand that it takes time. And I also know that it's worth it.

Catch yourself saying, "I can't", when you don't really mean it and instead try, "I can", and see how you think and feel about yourself.

Remember, the words you use to empower yourself will have a lasting effect, only if you practice them and they become a habit (an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary).

They say it takes at least 28 days to develop a habit. After a week, you will see that it becomes easier. It's a mindset and you can control your thoughts. Be proactive and not reactive - give yourself some good words.

Dream big and empower yourself! Believe you can and you will.
